11/14-11/18- What We're Doing

Hello! As you may notice this post isn't like the other ones. This is due to the fact that we are shaking things up a bit this week since next week we will be off for Thanksgiving! (Nov. 21-25) We have a lot of different things going on this week so we are going to have some fun! We will be reading Amelia Bedelia books and reviewing idioms that are from the story. We will also be reviewing story elements and working on our memoirs.

In math we will be practicing for our math CDB (Curriculum Diagnostic Benchmark). This test is a district assessment that will let them know how our students are doing with math concepts that we have learned so far.

We will also be discussing Thanksgiving and our traditions. We will take a look at how we are alike and how we are different. I think it is great to have everyone see all of our different family styles!

And the best part...on Friday the Majik Theater will be coming to Powell to give a very special and personal performance of "If You Give A Pig A Party" to the second grade! I am SO excited about this and can't wait for Friday! The Majik Theater puts on wonderful performances and I know our students will also love it!

Lastly, be on the look out for a special Veteran's Day picture we took on Friday. We had a wonderful tribute here at school and the students did a fantastic job!
